We attended the inaugural Africa Climate Summit, which was held between 4th and 6th September 2023 at Nairobi, Kenya in liaison with the AfricanUnion.
The summit brought together leaders from both public and private spheres in domestic and international platforms.
The summit sought to have a platform for countries to explore ways in which to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as well as driving green growth.
Thus, the summit presented a ripe opportunity for fronting climate action across the African continent.
As such, by the close of the summit, the African Leaders Nairobi Declaration on Climate Change and Call to Action 2023 (the Nairobi Declaration on Climate Change) was signed which canvasses commitments towards climate action including development of renewable energy and sustainable agriculture.
Some of the highlights from the Summit have been highlighted here.
